pregnant11All doctors provide maternity services in partnership with the Community Midwives and Health Visitors. The antenatal clinic is held on Tuesdays and the booking clinic is held on Thursdays.

Antenatal Parentcraft Classes

Held on a Friday afternoon in The Annexe from 2.30pm. Your named midwife will send you an appointment and you will have the opportunity to discuss any queries you may have informally.


inhaler2The nurse run clinic is held by appointment. We aim to provide regular assessment, advice and education to optimise treatment for all patients with asthma as we believe this reduces the problems caused by asthma.

Breast Feeding

Mums 2 Mums offer confidential voluntary support to breastfeeding mums. Please ask your health visitor for information.

Care for Older People

The District Nurses see patients over 75 years of age on a regular basis.

Child Health Clinic

Run on a walk-in basis on a Wednesday afternoon from 1.00pm 3.30pm.

Child Health Surveillance

Dr Thomason or Dr Rathband run the Child Health Clinic and these appointments are arranged via the Health Visitor.  Children are assessed at 8 weeks, 8 months, 24 months and 48 months to monitor growth and development.

Child Immunisation

The Health Visitors hold an Immunisation Clinic in the Health Centre on Tuesdays from 2.30pm to 3.40pm, by appointment. Please make an appointment at reception.


At present, there is a nurse led contraception/family planning service being offered by the practice. For an appointment, please contact reception.

Cardiovascular Disease

chdPractice nurses run the Cardiovascular Disease clinic with the GPs. This clinic is for people who suffer from angina, heart disease, stroke etc.Patients are referred by their doctor and seen for yearly review at nurse led clinics and other reviews as required.


Dr Clare Green has a special interest in diabetic care and run the Diabetic Clinic with the Practice Nurse on the first Tuesday of each month in the morning and the third Tuesday of each month in the afternoon by appointment. Regular check-ups and advice are essential for good diabetic control to reduce complications.

Employment Medicals

Employment medicals are arranged on an appointment basis. This service is offered outwith the NHS and a fee is payable.

Minor Surgery

Dr Rathband provides minor surgery for certain complaints such as lumps, cysts etc. Please discuss this with your doctor.

New Patient Health Screening

All patients registering with the Health Centre are invited to attend a health screening appointment with the doctor or practice nurse.

Occupational Therapy

The Occupational Therapist sees patients on a referral basis in Turner Hospital.

Outpatient Clinics

A number of clinics are held in Turner Hospital including Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics and Psychiatry.


Appointments are arranged following referral from your doctor. The Podiatrist holds a weekly clinic on Mondays,Tuesdays and Fridays.


Following referral from your doctor, physiotherapy is available at Turner Hospital. Patients can also self-refer for Physiotherapy on 0800 917 9390 if you have muscle or joint problems. This is a non-emergency help service for advice, information and assessment of muscle and joint problems.
