Advanced Nurse Practitioner –  3 or 4 days per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to become part of our friendly team at Keith Health Centre, in Moray.  We are looking for a highly motivated individual to assist our clinical team, both in caring for our 7,400 patients, and supporting the GPs with the in-hours care of patients in our 16 bed community hospital.  We are a training practice with 3 GP Partners and 1 salaried GP, supported by an ANP, Specialist Primary Care Nurse, practice nursing team, healthcare assistants, an administrative team and other allied health professionals.

The post holder will be expected to exercise a high degree of personal, professional autonomy as well as having confidence in dealing with face to face consultations, patients with undiagnosed conditions and the management of both acute and chronic disease conditions.  The position will comprise of a mixture of:

• Triage
• Surgery consulting
• Home visiting
• Supporting the clinical team in providing cover for the attached community hospital
• Supporting the local nursing homes

Applicants must either hold an advanced nurse practitioner qualification, be working towards this, or have other relevant, equivalent experience.  Possession of the independent, non-medical prescribing qualification would be an advantage.    Extensive post registration experience is desirable, particularly within primary care.  Given the remit of the role, the post holder will be expected to have access to a car and a valid UK driving licence.

The successful candidate will also possess, and be able to demonstrate, excellent communication and organisational skills and be committed to continuous professional development.

Hours are negotiable between 24 and 36 hours per week.
